Skateboarding Spots

• In Heavitree, off Whipton lane is a sort of half-pipe. Its where i learnt to skate and is great for beginners, as their arent many cars.
• we found that pizza hut has an awesome ledge, you jump onto the lower bit from the curb then when you get to the end you have a 3-4 foot drop, it's near a main road but there's barriers that stop you hitting anything or losing your board.
• BOS, If you dont know thats the old Bank Of Scotland Area and Financial District. Just past flower pots. Beware of this spot on any day apart from Sunday as sercurity is super tight basically there is a wide 6-set with ledge, 2 4-sets on either side of the BOS building a huge 8 with rail and twin ledge a 5 with flat ledge (no mannys) and waxed ledges galore! Exwick skatepark is still pretty good but beware of dickhead children who steal your stuff. Try the triple 3 set on the opposite road of the river as the skatepark. Very fun spot (probably only fun for beginners) no kick-offs and amusing paving slabs that can be moved to make tight-ass ramps.
• Flowerpots, Millers Crossing
• opposite the bus station ,in the car park its really smooth and also across the road next to the bus station theres a clinic or something and its got waxed ledges and loada smooth giant bricks that you can pull moves off.
• FlowerPots Lane
• flowerpot skate park is always going off as i ride past on my bike!!
• sk8 park at flowerpots i guess..took them long enough 2 build it tho!
• county hall, complex is dead, flowerpot, arena, tozers, civic centre maybe, FLOWERPOT is probably the best and them banks by the river
• Skatepark dumbass's though thers some good street if you can find it
• 2 skateparks: exeter arena and flowerpot fields in st thomas. lots of skaters go to heavitree park for the concrete and kerbs
• august 15th 2004 2pm to 7pm oblivion sk8 at the exeter arena skate park a free event for anyone organised by devon and cornwall police and exeter city council day to have a competition for local kids on skateboards and blades ( entry forms from the boarding house, T-reds and the police) music on stage by local dj's and a demonstration by the Salomon uk pro team. prizes donated by large companies for the skate comp. Pc hollins in charge of event at Exeter
• Down by the cannal opposite the Mill on the Exe Heard of others but haven't been.
• Exeters introducing a skating ban, theyv re serfaced the road and changed all the ledges benches in the high street so you cant skate them. Soon the fines are going up and it willl be illeagal to skate most car parks including the quey and @ the catheidral. council says skaters are evil..
• bascally u got tozers ledge which has been skated som much that is is pretty dam rough now, but good still 4 nose/tailslides and doing tricks off of it. u still can grind it though if ur good but its a bit of a bust normally, depends if anyones in when u go. theres a big 7 or 8 set there with a stair rail which i've seen this kid try and bail but never seen anyone do it successfully. further on you've got the barnfield theatre complex which has a 3 set onto a slope, bit sketchy. Beasty flat bank, real steep. small manual box. little drainage gaps. mellower flat ramps which you see people kickflipping, ollieing into etc. really nice and low just under knee height ledges 2 slide, real dam smoove and slippery. long 2 set into a bush, round the corner sketchy 3 and 4 set with a 2 further on. civic centres ok, real smoove floor and a nice knee height ledge to grind, slide or go off. but 4 tricks off of it its got hardly any run up unfortunately. those are the main places in town to skate and then of course there's flowerpot skatepark by the river at the bottom of the high street. which to the boarding house's credit is a real good park, better than any others locally but i'm not that into parks. exeter is a real good place to skate just don't be surprised if u get chucked off. some days it can be fine, some the total opposite. best of luck skatin'. never give up!
• County Hall - 5 stair leading onto a 3 and another 3. Wall to grind from stairs. Curved part of wall to drop in. Gap off the wall and clear the tairs at the end. VERY big ten stair, so far I don't think anyone has ollied it. Various other stairs. Tunnel good for lines when wet. 4 stair coming out of tunnel, ledges on both sides of it, good for grinds/slides. Long ledge on the other side of the tunnel, waxed, also good for manuals. Round corner is a big wall onto some grass, quite high but good to drop off. Statue to drop in - quite hard. Another 3 set, planter gap next to it. Further on are manaul boxes with little kickers either side, set and gap at the end. Near car park near back entrance is a massive gap, very small landing, might not be realistic to do, but worth a try. Loads of other stuff around there, usesome wood to make loads more garps, look around.
• there is a new park in the flowerpot playing feilds accross from the mill on the exe.
• Outside Dawsons / Quick Print in Heavitree
• NEW PARK!! - Exter has now opened its second skate park in Flower Pot playing fields. Its well equipped with some good grind blocks and rails and small ramps. It also has a quarter bank and vert wall, roll in, and fun box. Its quite small and gets crowded (seems to get a lot of townies hanging around) but go at the right times and its really cool!
• The complex near the barcleys bank, flat bank heaven
• central police station can be quite fun
• I dont skateboard but near PC world in Cowick street, and near barcalys in the high street are the two main ones. BUILD a fucking skate park for these poor buggers.
• There's a new (2001) Wheels park on the Exeter Arena site which is small but cool with a tarmac ramp, quarter pipe and plywood ramps. Another is planned on the Flowerpot playing fields in Exwick
• at exeter arena there is a small skatepark with a 6' quarter pipe, funbox with pyramid and 2 kickers
• County Hall- set of 5 stairs leading to a set of 3 and another set of 3 - good fun. Broadwalk bank- Plastic benches, sets of 4 - 8 stairs, nice low ledge Princesshay tunnells- Often people take out box's rails etc here - good sk8 if your there at the right time! Barnfield theatre, sloped walls (banks- steep), Manual island, smaller sloped walls that can be used as kickers. Wendys - Two big handrails, set of 7 stairs, One smaller handrail, set of 5 stairs. Key catherdrial car park, Dirty - but ok if your real board! Big green rails bout knee height down mellow slops, long ledge which is ok with wax.
• I went to Devon about a year ago, and there was a park in a place in or near Littleham. I reckomend that you check it out, and if you ever have the chance to go to this place called Littleham, then theres quite a big hill with a road going down it. ABout half way down there is a church, and opposite the church theres a little lane, only about 20 yards long. At the beginning of the lane there is a little newsagents, but at the end there is the sickest school i have ever seen. 4 sets of 4 steps. One set of 3, a few ledges, 1 bench, and a real nice surface. I don't know if its changed, but I recomend that you have a look at it anyway. I do'nt know if when you read this, you'll recognise me, but I went to Devon with one of my mates, Harry. We're both from the Isle of Wight, and when we went there, we saw this amazing skater called Dave? I don't know if he was sponcered, but he was a god, as his first trick we saw him pull was a 360 flip boardslide on a short rail. He was also doing flip melons out of a death box. Another guy we met was amazing as well, but I can't remember what his name was. All that I remember was that he wore loads of blind clothing, and was really good at switch stuff. Reeespect to all the Devon skaters!
• Go to the MFI carpark, there is a big thing with two slopes on it, and blocks if you're not scared of falling off the roof. Also down at th bottom of MFI are red bars which are really low and a nice wall.
• Many people meet in the High Street, Bedford Square and do there skateboarding there!! Sometimes you see them on a Saturday night, more popular in the summer!! I think they are looking for their own place to skate!!
• There is a new little skate park in Crediton. About seven miles from Exeter with 5ft mini, funbox and loads of rails. Worth a visit, and you can swim after cos' its built next to the sports centre. Handy eh!
• Countess Weir ramp is long gone. Basically no ramp in Exeter (May 97). For ramp nearest spots are Taunton, Bristol, Plymouth (new park). Mainly street and flatland oriented. Very talented riders. Pro flatlanders (BMX) practise all the time in the Quay carpark in the winter. Also a lot skateboarders use the lower floors for the unusual concerete blocks and good kerbed gantries.
• Exeter Street: Barclays Bak Square: benches, steps Ñ right in the middle of high street. You can't miss it. Loads of street stuff nearby. Some OK schools around. Ask locals.
• Clive Jones Experience half-pipe. 16' wide, 9' trans, 10' high, 6" vert. Paul, Steve, Chris mini-ramp Experience: 16' wide, 8' trans, 5' high. Small tombstone in one corner. Free to skate. Open all day.
• Barclays: benches, step, slidy step. Barnfield: banks, steps, block. Insurance Centre: acid drop, steps. OK at first, but after five years they get boring.

• The boarding house is ok, but dsnt have blank decks.

• theres the boarding house, but i go to soundy's in Tiverton because its got a wider range for skateboards than the Boarding house.

• Just out of Exeter is Skatewarehouse.co.uk which stocks loads of skate stuff. They also have a web site (www.skatewarehouse.co.uk) and the cool thing is one of the guys who works there lives in Exeter so you can order it online and have it delivered to your door!

• There is one nice one on Fore Street, they build top boards there, and an extreme sports shop further up the road, but that one isnt as proper

• That new skate shop in Gandi street closed down before the summer sorry. It was called Lounge.
• Boarding House, Fore Street. Good shop: up to date boards and clothes. Also sells BMX and top of the range mountain bikes.
