Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
Phoenix
Lucky's
Marlboro Club
There is a bit of fighting culture in Ilf so beware flying bottles. The Bunch is friendly and full of ageing rockers. DJ's sports bar is as funky as Ilf gets. The Queens is suicide.
Its young its fun its cheep but luckys has only one d j thats good but he left but will be back i here on saturdays soon ?
graham has said that luckys will be haveing a refite in the new year to bring it into the 2004 wait an see
Luckys!!is a right laugh, but be warned its very cheesy. Also there's DJ's Sports Bar which is ok and Collussus is next to that and theres a really empty club called Swivel at the bottom of the highstreet which i wouldnt recommend!
Graham runs a tight ship at Lucky's but I prefered the bingo that used to be there!
Luckies, High St; DJ's nightClub is re-openning in Market St; Marlborough Club
luckys! what fun that is!
Plenty gripped in the fists of the local lowlifes, but none of the dancing kind.
Luckys nightclub has been taken over by new management as of September 97.
The sound and lighting equipment has been supplied by the worlds specialist starcloth company S+H technical Support.
Luckys is open 5 nights a week with 3 different DJs. Please could you update this information the Management Of Luckys
There is one club called Luckys! I wouldn't bother.
Live Music Venues
Grapevine
Phoenix Club
Jax in the High St has live bands every Wednesday. Tax seems to range from £1 to £12 depending how famous. Some strange stuff sometimes. Worth keeping an eye out for the posters.
The only pub in Ilfracombe to get stuck into live music is the Bunch of Grapes on the high street. Sticky carpets though. Barnstaple has more but no one you've heard of.
Marlboro Club , High Street - Fridays mainly. Also Club Phoenix - High Street -mainly Wednesdays - Local and national bands.
The Vault Music Rooms, in Ilfracombe is moving to the Pheonix club on the high street from December 1st.
THE VAULT (Behind the Berkeley Hotel) Ilfracombe, you can get details from the Captains Cabin, The Quay, Ilfracombe. 01271 879250. every Wednesday night, Live Music, excellent Venue
The Bunch Of Grapes in the highstreet always has live bands playing
Live Music "open mike" in the pier Hotel and landmark alt Fridays with guests etc and in the Bunch of Grapes they have rocking bands Aerial centre is where live mmusicians can practice at any decibel and record ...home of National Youth Festival
Most of the locals can be heard at some time to whistle that old favourite 'I've got a brand new combine harvester', by The Wurzels. This place is stuck in a time warp.
The Landmark
support yourlocal band! Inhaler are the most unique plus origonal crisp sound coming out of this shithole on the tinyest tip of the united kingdom. Catch them at the bunch of grapes, a christmas party they shall put on the 18th of December!!!
Cinemas
One of oldest working cinemas in country. Actually awarded country's worst cinema once but it's great
The only cinema is in the high street, it has a really bad reputation (think rats and fleas) but it has just had a big makeover and looks ok, although I ain't been inside yet.
the flea pit!!!!just dont go!
The Pendle Stairway officially voted the worst cinema in Europe a few year ago will shortly be closing its doors by summer 2003. This place is nostalgia all over! It still has ashtrays on the back of the seats! Instead its down to the landmark for movies.
The Pendle stairway was rated the worst in UK but has brilliant atmosphere, and ALL new releases on preview, also the lanmark theatre is luxurious but not recent
the flea pit. its basically like a deckchairs ina room!!
Enter, scratch and leave.
The Landmark
i would travel miles to somewhere better than ilfracombe's cinemas. One is dirty, smelly, so it's no good and i haven't bothered to go in the other one.
The arcades are okay though!
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
