Bicycle Shops, Bike Sales and Repairs

  • Id just like to ask the people who work for Boudins and PedalPower to stop bigging themselves up and get back to work! (if you have any.) From my conversations with the staff at the these shop they were all regulars to the site! Petty bitter comments will not knock mark pickfords cycle shop off the number one selling bike shop in the south west spot nor take alway his loyal customers. Feel free to go in and chat to mark about his cycling history and his friendships with extremely established racers of today and yester years. I think his job as manager of the island games cycling team and his own experiences of the commonwealth games sum up the most informative and helpful bike shop owner in jersey. Its an excellent family run business with capable and willing staff. Im sure the layout of the shop itself will impress you unlike the bare bland interiors of the other shops. I wouldnt shop anywhere other than Marks.
  • The comment here about Boudins and The Cycle Centre are rubbish. My recent trip to Mark Pickfords was awful. I wanted a new bike, asked about one on display, they wouldn't even pull it out for me to try or look at in more detail. They didn't give or offer any further info on it and seemed more concerned about going off to the back of the shop to do something else, probably a tea / coffe break. So, 0/10 for them and I will not be going in again. They need to learn the words Customer Service. Arthur at Boudins is very knowledgeable and a long term keen cyclist in Jersey, The Cycle Centre were more helpful than Pickfords but room for improvement, which they are in the process of doing to the shop. De Gruchy's Cycles I haven't been to for a long time so cannot comment but they always seem to have plenty of stock in. So, whoever you are, if your going to comment, atleast be constructive and explain your reasons rather than using a swear word to sum up your thoughts!
  • Id just like to say that the cycle centre and boudins are crap! What planet and when did you visit them recently?? Mark pickfords is the number one selling bike shop in the channel islands not just jersey so i think thats the place to go. Friendly and enthusiastic staff who are willing to get anything in for you at a decent price and with quick service. 10/10 anyday!
  • Lawrence de Gruchy, Don Street, St Helier Mark Pickfords Cycle Shop, La Motte Street, St Helier
  • cycle center, by sand street car park BEST SHOP IN THE ISLAND, boudans is also next to sand street car park (they are a bit annoying tho)
  • pickford bike shop in la motte street for the serious biker, top racers and mtb's.cycle centre is also worth a look as well as boudins.
  • People powered: Boudain's bikes, The Cycle center and Ray De Gruchy's are the places to go. Petrol powered: Motorama and Bob's motorcycles are the best places to go.

BMX Trails, Street Spots

  • Mark Pickfords in La Motte street has some great stuff in and if you cant find what you want they will order it for you. Id suggest a visit from my personal experience.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
