• The best place to hang around in Houghton, always was, and still is, Newbottle fields, the little plot of land surrounded by trees round the back of the new estate before you get to the path to Shiney college. You're out the way of the main roads, so you can't get into any bother and you're far enough away from the estate to play music without anyone complaining.

• Go to Houghton Park where all the lambrini drinking, tracki wearing, hairsprayed fringed slappers go! It's a laugh!   
• The many places people in Houghton "hook-up" is normally in Houghton Park or at the old cemetery this is mainly the people who wear tracksuit bottoms and have little imagination.

• Graswell park but if ppl want to go to pubs who r aged 13-17 they should try the queens head(the ymca)   
• elizabeth wheatleys karaoke nights in the brittania pub has to be one of the best nights in houghton.(but watch out when she does "new york new york"with Harry Maddison for the high kicking legs and the flash of her new knickers bought that day from the bargin bin).

• The Park - Infested with school kids, mainly at dinner times, best to avoid it at all costs if you want to come out alive.
