Sandgate care park has loads of curds for wapping but watch out for the kevs on a saturday. Also watch out for this kid trying to hang with you - hes a noob. Wax up those curbs and youll be stoked! Tech madness fun to be had.
Ullswater College is the easiest place to go if you enjoy collecting wax or wooden boards. The skaters also hang around the baths where there are lots of walls for tricks and suchlike.
Pool
streetwise is the shop and its ok i spose, ullswater school is prettey good for skating wether ur good or shit, the environmental agency builing is also good
Paul Norman the best skater around. he can almost ollie a kerb. This guy takes extreme sports to a new level

Outside the pool. On the wall.
THE POOL WHERE YOU FIND THE TIDY SKATER PETE MC MANUS I LUV YOU!!

Smoke weed, skate at the pool/school.
Get abused by jeff and DJ FAIL the hardcore ucc jenators.
Smoke some more weed, skate a little more and piss just a few more people off.
Why the hell is nicky cook always mentioned as the skater of penrith cos he isn't he's never at school. Real skaters like Pete'Mac, Tren, Stout, Ash Fry, other Ash, Nick Ash , Dave mase , Billy who unfortouetly broke his ankle the other day and is having it screwed back together. Mike barclay also makes an occasional appearance but he's to busy smokin pot and cutting up meat these days. There are also loads of other skaters not forgetting the legend Sid who come down all the time but thats it come to school or the pool people will be there!!!!
ne carpark newhere
Outside the pool, where all the 10 year old possies of Pot-heads wear their baggy skate pants & Back 2 front Baseball caps.
UCC or swimming pool. Really prety crap. Get kick off anywhere else.
penrith swimming pool
Penrith swimming pool is the main plavce
Yeah. Well, the problem is that there's lots of skaters with nowhere to go. If they could be arsed they could take over the world, but it seems they'd rather spend their time getting moved on by the police.
keep getting moved on - catch them at the pool, aldi car park or the police station
Southend Road car-park when it's less busy and there's a lower risk of getting mowed down by the boy racers. If you're lucky you may even meet Zak, a local skating legend who wears the crotch of his trousers down by his ankles.
Unfortunateley none of these, but if you stop a passing policeperson they may direct you to Aldi Car Park.
Skateboard Shops
streetwise but its bloody expensive!!!
streetwise....... low quality selection, they sell a collection of about 3 decks and the completes are "fracture" run far away!!!
streetwise is pritty good i suppose the staff are cool
streetwise
The indoor market is the only skater shop in penrith
wot aload of crap. i buy loads from the streetwise an its not over priced. most stuff the same price as mail order an she orders stuff in for me.wot woz that about shop lasting 6 months its now 2 an half years on and stock is getting better all the time. the crazy lady ha ha says coming soon is preorders for etnies es more DCs vans an zooyork i cant wait to spend more of dads dosh.
streetwise
There is a skateboard shop in the arcade, packed with the usual Offspring hats etc. I believe it's placed next to that Factory Records, which wins the award for worst target market! The only musical tastes in Penrith are trashy soft Coldplay new age hippy sellouts type, sped up Dance music on 'Vibe' and 'New Monkey' tapes. The Shap lads like to strut their stuff to this badly equalized stuff. Also, there is the Goths who like Goth stuff, heavens knowing what that is. Probably bands like 'the wristslitters' or something!
there is one. Nice lady who owns it, bit crazy.
Shitty shop in't arcade. Pile of shite
streetwise..(original name)
steetwise man!
streetwise in the arcade where you will find julie, she is very nice and if you know her well enough, she will give you special discounts on some items, just try ur best not 2 see her bad side it is VERY evil!
streetwize in the devonshire arcade is where skater boys n girls go to find all their gear. goths can also find some good jewellery and ornaments there.
Hooooray finaly penrith has the aded attraction of one skateboard shop no not the local toymaster but one in the arcade its over priced cramped with a small selection of stuff (growing) but at least its a place to replace smashed up decks oh and buy top brand sticker we are proud of you penrith hoooray
Actually, one has opened recently in the Devonshire arcade... but all it means is that every single skater in the whole of the Penrith area will end up wearing identical flatties and riding identical boards. I don't expect it to survive longer than... oooh... 6 months from now (23/04/02)
ATTENTION: we need a proper skatebord Place and shops!! REspect the main geezers
IS NONE AT ALL UNLESS YOU DO A BIT OF BUYING AND SELLING OFF YOUR MATES DOWN AT THE POOL
Does N E 1 Want me to OPEN a SKATEBOARD SHOP cos im thinking about it and if i get a good enough response on this site i might just. Give me stockist ideas for decks and clothes and stuff.
eeeeeeeemmmmmmmmmm. Nope. Soz there is none of these in Penrith. You might find some at one of the million charity shops though. So try there.
It shut down when a rich fat guy called Miles Ponder moved back down south a couple of years ago - he kept it going cos he spent masses in there each week
I wish!!! For information on the nearest skateboard shops you would need to go to
Penrith swimming pool and look for a lad about 4ft in height and covered in tattoo's
he goes by the name of Nicky Cook.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
