Skateboarding Spots
I've seen this turd skating they do - thought it was just a joke at first - but it's true!....revolting if you ask me. Old road and west avenue are the places to go if you don't believe me
Turd skating is the latest craze to hit sunny Clacton. You take a flying leap at a good fresh dog turd and see how far along the pavement you can slide. John Planet is said to have achieved a 24 foot run down Old road. Mind you he was pushed by 5 other blokes
Boarders and bladers hang around by the town hall in Station road, The steps are particularly good for grinding. The staff inside are always moaning, all old and were never young.
Down pier gap and straight off the end of the Jolly Roger.
down the beach or safe way car park
any of the boat ramps down to the beach make a laugh. especially at high tide.
Kingsman Drive, You can really grind a dirty board thru the kick-ass track with a tune or snuff-quagler!
pier gap LOOK OUT OLD BIDDY!!! WWWEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
I haven't lived in Clacton for six years but I've got a lot of friends there and things never change much. I used to skate with a bunch of guys...The Wet Flower Gang. Some of them are still around but mostly not skating anymore. A new generation is born I guess. The best place to skate really is Colchester. But there is always the Pier Gap. Loads of nice rails but too many cockneys on holiday. The west side prom has a lot of nice low walls and smooth grindy steps. The whole area is very flat. Ramps pop up in Car Parks and playing fields but are all made of wood and seem to get burnt down on a regular basis. Shit local council won't build a metal one. In fact there used to be a top bowl down the road in Walton. Left over from the seventies. But the local authorities smashed it up six years ago. A good reason to leave I thought.
Skateboard Shops
force nine high st
Turd skating is best done in white socks don't stay like that for long though so local shops do a good trade in them
Most people go to Colchester or Ipswich to by skateboard stuff.
Clacton is not cool enough to have skaters. I wish it was though
cant remember any skateboard shops but can think back to when clacton had a skateboard park opposit the the mecca cinema other wise down the sea front
FORCE NINE pay me for the plug later
Ptchah, eh ha ha
In the Bay of Angina, a new big centre has been opened. Though not designed for skateboarding per se, it does however have what young skateboarders call "Widdy Head Flings" - Or obstacles. There are row upon row upon row of upright concrete slabs which the young skateboarding dude "Wiggy-Liggy" (or swerve). These obstacles have names on each and the hardest routs starts with James Philips, 1945-1998 and ends with the tricky memorial to Joan Greene 1934-1997. Do not go near if they are putting another big box in the ground as the sweary vicar will tell you to clear off.
A newish outlet "Bran Flake Emporium" now sells skateboards in Clacton. The owner, Mr Luton Airport is extrememly nice and lets you bring animals into the store (all animals except owls and mink). There is a swearing assistant who will swear when he serves you, and thats a cast iron guarantee. (Please note: Do not get served by tall assistants if you can't stand gutter language).
A brand new skateboard ramp, eighty foot in height has been built at the
new development of Caden bay near the Martello area, the ramp, which can be
seen from space (apparently). Be warned though, twelve people have already
died from the quite obviously dangerous and ludicrous angles the ramp is
designed at. Will you tempt fate to try the ramp . . . ?
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
