Favourite Building
The Beach House
Pink Cottage on breakwater
off liscence sells beer nuff said!
Auntie Vi's
The Castle - just cos it's a building with a turret on.
Demolish It Now Building
The sandwich bar shack at the end of the High Street on the roundabout. Should have been flattened years ago! Its an eyesore and the first thing you see as you get to the town centre - what a letdown.
So much to name! probably most of the Strand as unfortunately, it is the first part those poor holiday makers get to see! Bude and its location has such potential but the council prefers to watch the crap buildings rot and gets kicks out of rejecting any decent plans or proposals for modern coastal architecture. Thus, Bude's appearance has reputation as a bit of a ****hole that it (probably) doesn't always deserve.
Arcade at Crooklets and strand hotel! sorry
most of berries avenue
The Strand Hotel!
those flats theve built for the criminal brummys.
the bude light, what a waste of money. two new skate parks could have been built for the cost of that poxy little monument.
strand hotel coz its full of luke warm silver tops sucking their dinners
Just about all Bude wants Octagon Corner seriously sorted - its sold finally - so watch this space
The bus shelter is one building in Bude that needs to be demolished. It breads drunken kids which constently cause agrow. If this was to be knocked down they wouldn't have anywhere to hide from the police.
The Headland
Arcades at Crooklets.
The Best Things
Surf, sea, sand, weather and loads of it
Some of the best coast and beaches in and around the area
Its a small, quiet, chilled out, friendly and very laid back town, if you want anything else then go to Newquay.
I've lived in this god forsaken winter ghost town for five years. I'm a Londoner and know what you mean about the inbred small minded fucks here. But hey, you can't beat the scenery and lack of god damn burnt out cars, crime, drugs and murder. This place is a time warp, and you can go out and leave your front door open without being burgled 27 times and a 12 year old shit on your lounge carpet. I love it - me kids love it - nuff said! London can shove itself up it's own arse for all I care.( Highbury apart)!!!
The beach, the lifestyle, the countryside, lifeboat day.
SWeet dogs ollie
the beach the chilled lifestyle
girls in bikinis
surf skate and a bus that goes out of town!
Sure Bude has it's hangups but basically its a brill place to CHILL OUT. Totally relaxed but with much more happening than you might think - actually people keep coming back so just ask yourself why and then join in the fun.
The locals are very kind and generous (just don't piss them off). The Carriers pub is the liveliest place of an evening whatever the weather. Full of friendly faces and a couple of huge, cuddle owners.
Sun, Sand. Beach, Babes. lazy days. hazey days.
Beach, surfing types, minimal clothing requirements. etc
The Worst Things
Winter
The standard of women, sorry ladies.
The male to female ratio
the slipknoters who like shuvit flips
Officer dick
if you fart everyone knows it was you. if you catch a dose of the clap it probaly came from your sister!
the return ticket in my pocket and lack of chicks!!!
Everywhere has em - but why are the locals so keen to chill out here - ask surf spot, zuma jays and a whole load of others why they stay - we're unique and once experienced ............well!!!!
Bude is full of inbreds, is all of Cornwall like this? Check out an average Saturday night at Widemouth Manor and you'll see what I mean. Sorry Bude.
Winter
Tourists during the summer (emmits to those in the know.)
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide.
