Favourite Building
the railway station, its the quickest escape from the town !
The one containing Rhythms, the record/musical instrument shop.
St Annes alas no more, was the first building in Redhill (not counting the station as a building)
The old water building they knocked down (why?)
A little cottage up White Post Hill that used to be a pub - a sort of mock tudor affair. Pretty.
Demolish It Now Building
Belfry so I can sk8 there
The gas things.
The Dome. Need I say more...
The Lombard Office. Legoland, basically. Oh, and the TDK office too. Duplo.
Those two big gas thingys down my street.
The Best Things
Pedestrianised shopping precincts & closeness to countryside & main routes.
Its near London. The A23 - out of Redhill
Nope, sorry, can't think of one!
London on your doorstep, oh and Kevs to make fun of.
Skate spot, train station
Getting politely served in Burger King
The telephone exchange. There are good shops around, the station is really excellent providing north south and east west direct travel. It's not far to the real country and London and the sea.
It's better than Horley
You can get everywhere easily (cos no-one wants to actually be here)
Eccentric suburban architecture. Works of incredible literature that remain unclaimed in charity shops because most of the people in Redhill can't even string a sentence together.
M25
The Worst Things
Drab architecture and lack of core community activity.
you can always find a fight
your never far away from someone with a bulldog tattoo & hackett shirt
the bouncers are always fat, bald and unreasonable wherever you go.
No musical instrument shop
No pubs with jukeboxes
That damn market, it was better wherever it used to be situated.
Sainsburys is so very dirty and beige
No one ever helps anyone else out there is no town spirit
its dirty
run by a council that dont seem to care
It has to be the people. This town is the result of hundreds of years of residents marrying their cousins.
Redhill is not called "Deadhill" for nothing!
Its drab and lifeless. The town centre hs no energy. I feel sapped as soon as I enter the wretched place.
The girls are mainly ruff old slags and those who arn't are to scared to leave the house
The buildings, the shops, the pigeons, the traffic ... need I go on!
Kevs that make fun of you. Getting beaten up after closing time or after Embassy closing time on a weekend. Avoid the kebab vans behind the Abbott pub, things sometimes get hairy round there at 1am.
Everyone who lives in Redhill try to fob off people by saying they are from Reigate - YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!
Townies hanging by McDonalds
the assorted overhead police cameras which never seem to be in use when they are needed
It's a bit tacky. I was born here, lived here, school here, moved away, came back and I remember it was better 20 years ago when the A23 went straight through the centre of the town. It can be dirty, needs more concerted cleaning efforts.
Everyone takes the piss out of you for living there
The time it takes you to get out of the place (I'm thinking Reigate Hill here - 30 minutes to drive a poxy mile?)
The undeniable air of "Wow, satellite town alert".
Severe lack of life. You can't get a drink outside the town centre after 3 pm and up to a few months ago the town centre bars and resteraunts didn't open at all on sunday.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
Have Your Say...
The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Redhill.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
