Food

• The Thatch for a sit down, Billy Budds for stand-up meals. The Manor if they've got a chef again-They had the best chef for miles at one stage. Place on the left on the way to the Manor. Used to do amazing Creole Chicken. I thought that it was called the Miami Vice but that may have been the herbs...
• The Thatch,fair for the standerd. Several other "eateries" cheap(? -not!) and cheerful seem to be the watchwords here.Don't come here looking 4 Cordon Bleu. the general standerd is Soup in the Basket
• Hobbs - just to the right of the Thatch - brilliant food at good prices including food to share e.g. fondue - sounds strange but tastes gorgeous. Also do a fabulous breakfast in the mornings.

Pubs

• The Thatch, Billy Budds for the young crowd with more money than sense! Have seen the Thatch 6 deep at the bar in the summer. Bars generally are V expensive.
• The Thatch & Billy Budds(both owned by same people) The Manor has more locals but involves a walk of 400yds to get to it. None of the Pubs can be described as cheap. All desperatly crowded in summer. Have seen Thatch 6 deep at the bar before now

Cafes and Coffee Shops

• The Bridge Caff - probably changed its name again. Hobbs is now The Bistro so they can charge more

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
