Food

• Bakery do nice pasties and sausage rolls, Andy the baker starts baking for the next day around 11pm so if you are coming out of the pub and fancy a pastie go knock on the side door.
• all the pubs do good food with the excepting of the ship. The chippy closes and 8, isnt open sundays or monday lunchtimes, coop and soŁo stores sell munchies
• Chinese great for a chop sue y Chip Shop always a none smile zone Bacon butty from bakers
• The chip shop owner who always scratches his bits!
• The Old Coaching House Bishop Lacey
• Chinese takeaway Fish and chip shop - closes early (around 9pm!! as owner likes to catch last orders!!!!) Run by "The Fat and Grumpy Family" Don't expect a smile or chit chat when visiting - you just wont get one!!!
• chinese, chippy, few pubs, co-op and microwave also a possibility

Pubs

• more pubs than houses in chudleigh
• White Hart for the men who finish work - must have a pint before facing the missus, or for sad losers who have no misses The Ship a nice and friendly atmosphere, a game of pool or two Coach House a bit dark and old fashioned Globe not even worth a look in the door Bishop a bit noisy when large screen active
• The Old Coaching House, very upper class, good food, live music regularly, but the most expensive pub in Chudleigh. They do weddings etc... Bishop Lacey - Very Friendly pub, mix of ages, but very good for yountsters (over 18 of course) Two section, lounge and bar, open fire in winter, friendly dog,jukebox The Ship - Don't even go there The Globe _ No don't go there either
• Bishop Lacey - All the ard' people go there BUT it has very nice meals and a great atmos (no I'm not plugging it, it was always my fav) People in there are generally friendly and will chat to strangers The Old Coaching House - expensive, but popular The Ship - don't even go there The White Hart - Too small, like a saloon on westerns (everybody looks up as you go in the door) The Globe - Better the White Hartish

Cafes and Coffee Shops

• Pottery Court Cafe, under new ownership - go see Robin. Does HUGE meals for Ł2.99 - roast dinners, fry ups, the works.
• Harveys is great! a bit upmarket for chudleigh though... they sell cheese and stuff too, yno the posh types.
• they are building a youth cafe where the delicatessan used to be
• Tea garden open occasionally might have better luck walking down to the Rock for a spot of tea and cake
• In Pottery Court there is a nice cafe/coffe shop I think
• go to the bishop lacy
