Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains
reds, animal, erm thats it i fink theres a surf shop called two bare feet which is good and they do stuff in torre sports but its mostly chav shops in torquay :|
The new Diva shoe shop is rubbish, unlike their clothes shop. Over priced and wierd. Don't think much to the moody, un-helpful shop assistant either.
hmm, nope, nuffin good here.
new look, redz, animal, topshop, river island, mkone, bay,
newlook, river island
River Island Union St.for trendy expensive Crap for the girls (Take it back and change it next week). Marks and Sparks the Willows for the Blue Harbour range for men.
oooo diva expensive
Gotta be River Island
bit thin on the ground here too. let me see, we have topshop (pretty small but adequate)river island...the usual, nothing really very alternative, tribal voice can have some nice stuff and reds and the other expensive shop at the top of town.
an animal store has recently opened to my surprise and there are still some nice-ish surfy shops down the bottom of town ie.two bare feet.
Janes for some great club gear for women if they are daring enough! The normal shops - ie River Island, Dorothy Perkins, Top Shop, New Look and amazingly there is an Oasis in Hoopers (the posh shop on the Strand)
Two Bare Feet is okay but pricey, the ubiquitous TK Maxx if you can be arsed to look through all the rails, Reds and Mogul near Cafe Prague are cool, lots of Bench, Mambo, Carharrt, etc. Skate shops overpriced.
NEW LOOK,TK MAX, MK 1, THATS ABOUT IT, UNLESS YOU WANT CHEEP N NASTY THEN THERE IS ALWAYS PRIMARK & PEACOCKS
redz
Has improved a bit with Diva.Has a big TK Maxx,ok if u have time on your hands to root through loads of cack.
I used to buy stuff in Fish when I was younger, but mos high street shops do ok nightclub clobber now!!
Topshop opening is a welcome return to the town.
Rock 'n' Shock on Market Street do goth, PVC etc. (haven't been that way for a while so hope they're still going)
Tribal Voice for goth, hippy, clubwear etc.
Space for cybery clubwear
Major high street chains. Tusk has gone now. Western Clipper Jeans on Fleet Street is a rip-off, but sells a good selection. Torquay is not the clothes capital of the South West.
cody - proper football casual clothes!
attic,j fashions

SOME CRAFT SHOPS, TOTNES IS THE PLACE TO HEAD FOR FOR ANYTHING REMOTELY CREATIVE
occaisional good arts galleries shows on torquay sea front
art shops
China Blue and the Cardew T pot factory
not much of that around here I'm afraid! There is however a good crafty shop in babbacombe, opposite the post office.
cockington
Stroll down the main street and along the seafront. As you would expect, the sheer volume of inflatable plastic, brightly coloured confectionery and things costing one pound is extreme. Serious seaside merchandise, and why not? It may be a good idea to keep it out of the new harbour development though...
You aint seen nothing if you have not been in Enigma The Terrace Fleet Street Torquay, The coolist shop int Torquay....no Devon! It is so different, latest gadgets, gizmos contemporary stuff!
The pavillion has a lot of unique little things.
Bits and peices in Cockington, Dartington is good if you like crystal..
They hold art exhibitions at Torre Abbey Manor sometimes. Plenty of supposed craft shops selling Candles etc. and swindling Tourists - to be fair some are actually quite good.
Torquay is pretty much devoid of culture
The Pavilion on the seafront is your best bet for this kind of thing. A converted theatre which now houses a number of small shops ranging from touristy stuff to the downright bizarre.
Magazine and Comic Shops
hmm smiths is best bet, there was a rush of comics in a paignton book store, all were snapped up quickly so i hear.
Sadly WH Smith seems to be the only place except the skate shops.
smiths
Newsagent. Places in the markets. Buy old Torquay United programmes and create a fabulous collection! Get these from the shop in Plainmoor Stadium.
