  • Oh my, I have been coming to Cornwall every yr for ages now and there are some great cafes about but i wouldn't advise Harvey's Cafe in Hayle, i don't know if they were having a bad day or what but last yr i went there for lunch and the place was so bad i had to leave. I never usually complain but the waiter was a 13 yr old kid (this is fine enough but he was smoking and lounging on the tables whilst ordering the food) We asked for cheeseburger and chips an orange an coke. They had run out of Orange which is fine so the boy went over to the co-op, we looked about and there were a lot of unhappy customers about, one family left and an old lady kept complainging about her breakfast, this made us a bit weary. Ten mins later the girl(chef i think) came out and asked if we wanted our chesseburger in a bun, we said yes and she replied " oh" so sent the boy over the road to get some buns (they didn't have any chips either so just a burger on a plate is what she was thinking. After seeing other people leave we got a bit anxious and left too. I think the service wsn't very good and the place didn't look very clean. It may have changed since so by all means make your own opinion but i won't be going back there again :(
  • Quayside Cafe rocks!!! Go there and try the big breakfast. It's an amazing hangover cure. it's on North Quay just past the swimming pool. GO THERE.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
