• Lots of shops specialising in clothes for rich/bored housewives.

• White Stuff is great. Packed with loads of surf and street labels and White stuff, lots of great girls stuff as well. They also have a sail shop packed with bargains.

Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

• Dartmouth is the home of terrible, terrible borgeouis 'art'. Almost every shop is an 'art' shop; almost everything in them looks like something you'd find on the wall of a holiday cottage circa 1980.
• There are stacks of art and craft shops, plus loads of antique shops.
• The D'art Gallery in Dartmouth exhibits a brilliant selection of contemporary art from UK artists together with affordable prints. All framed to a high standard.

Magazine and Comic Shops

• Yeah, right. You can barely get Private Eye in Dartmouth. Forget it.
• Pillars the Newsagents on the way to the Lower Car Ferry.
• You might find odd magazines at Pillar's The Newsagents on the way to Bayards Cove and the Lower Car Ferry.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
