That one you can see as you walk onto boutport st. from Butcher row, and of course the lovely civic centre
ones in church street
Demolish It Now Building
Can we have the new bus station demolished and put back in sensible place, like not halfway across town? I liked it better there.
oxfam
college
New theatre in Ilfracombe otherwise known as "Madonnas Bra". Pull it down QUICK!!!!
The Best Things
You may walk through the grave yard marvalling at the different sized condoms. be sure to see the local pisshead (tiger man) who drunkenly claims he's finished writing his book and allways quotes "GO GETTEM TIGERS" to passers by (he may think ur following him) but he is harmless.
look out for richard ellis of park school the master of dodgeyness who will sell u any thing (also harmless)
It's not South Molton
skate rock park
Totty in the summer. Beaches and river.Cider and Pasties (butchers Row the best)

The Beach
Very lay back but has what you need. kuntryside as you leave and various forms of accomodation.
The Worst Things
The worst thing is that I really like Barnstaple in a love-to-hate it kinda way. It's great if you can go away and come back to it and think "this really is the worst place to be ever."
Bickington General Stores, Prices are higher than the civic centre and they don't even sell stuff you want.
Even though Barnstaple holds everything i love, it can get a bit boring in the winter unless you have S**T loads of mates to get piss - ed with you all know who you are!
rain
Sitting in a crowded Euphoria waiting for comedy club to start one Tuesday evening
I shocked to hear the first lines uttered by the comedian as he picked up his
microphone. "Barnstaple. (slight pause) I'm sorry, but you do live in the toilet of
the universe." In most other places the unfortunate comedian would have subjected to endless reams of abuse as the patriotic citizens
hurled various paraphenalia at the unsuspecting entertainer. Barnstaple, however, is unlike may other towns
in that the general consensus is that it's a shithole. The audience in this particular senario could barely contain their laughter at this universal truth. Perhaps the most depressing element of this little tale is that,
while we all acknowledge the fact that we live in the toilet of the universe, we're quite happy to live in it all the same. Just one of those enigmatic paradoxes I'll never be able to solve.
Traffic. Bi annual surfers in Vee dubs
old biddys and college
Barnstaple is an appaling place to come to if you are coming in a car it is the only place in the world where the ring road goes through the town centre. The kids have got sod all to do so no wonder they are all pissed. The wages are shit and the pubs are diar. The best pub is the new inn really friendly excellent food and good beer. General opinion is come for a holiday and go home, we wish we could . It is not the same living here a shit hole.
Barnstaple is full of mutants. However it is not as bad as Bideford and definitely nowhere as bad as Torrington. Y'all have fun on a friday down at 'The Shed' ya here! North Devon is like the twilight zone on mogadon, everything moves very slowly and very weirdly.
Barnstaple is for life not just for christmas, handle with caution.
Need better municipal plans especially in relation to youth activities and facilities. There should be a playground next to the public library for starters.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide.
