Food
MY ADVICE IS DON'T EAT IN LOOE, THE RESTERAUNTS' ARE CRAP. I WOULDN'T SERVE THE FOOD IN THE GOLDEN GUINEA TO A DOG. MUST ADMIT I HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE SMUGGLERS WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE OKAY. THE ONLY ONE I CAN RECOMMEND IS THE CHINESE NEAR THE SHIP.
We tried most the better restaurants at Looe and we found the Smugglers Cott to be the best, fantastic fish & great staff.
The Old Sail Loft Buller quay. Has a fantastic view of the Harbour, very pretty at night when the light reflects off the water. Great food and friendly atmosphere
Annes sandwich bar , near the quay side , come on ppl ,i go there every year and every year have the best chicken tikka cob of my life!!!!!! believe me the best food ull ever taste in ur life . Ill be back down in septemeber so save me one!
take away.
You could do worse than go to the Mermaid restaurant, I mean a lot worse, believe me, I've been to the other places.
the old cottage restaurant just around the corner from the ship pub- superb food and wine and a relaxed atmosphere. not the cheapest but well worth a try.
The Larder at the Harbour Moon pub is a nice restaurant.
The Smugglers Cott is the best restaurant in Looe in my opinion.
Cheep & Cheerful = The Harbour Moon.
To have dinner the best restaurant in Looe is The Smugglers Cott.
Pubs
THE GUINNESS IS FANTASTIC IN LOOE. BEST IV'E HAD OUT OF IRELAND. THE FISHERMANS ARMS IS A GREAT PUB WITH A REALLY FRIENDLY STAFF. THEY WERE KINDNESS ITSELF TO US. THE BULLERS IS A PROPER PUB. THE GLOBE IS FRIENDLY,GREAT GUINNESS AND A GOOD POOL TABLE. TO THE TWAT WHO WROTE ABOUT DUELLING BANJOS, LOOE IS BEST PLACE FOR FRIENDLY LOCALS IV'E EVER BEEN TO. EVERY SHOP, PUB, CAFE ETC THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT.
The Locker public house overlooking the sea but is seasonal.
There's nothing I can say to describe these places. Nothing, lets just say that you'll walk in and immediatly think you're in a scene from "Deliverence", yes, you will hear Duelling Banjos.
Ye Olde Salutation Inn (or something along those lines - it definitely had 'salutation' in it anyway ...) does yummy, good value food and an excellent pint of Guiness.
The Harbour Moon - a really friendly atmosphere.
The Bullers - a drinking Pub
Ye Olde Fishermans Arms in Higher Market Street dates back to 1611 and has most of its original features. There is great Irish/folk music every Thursday and serves the best pint of guiness this side of the water! There are also B&B rooms if you have too much to drink (01503)265800
Too many to list all Pretty good.
Cafes and Coffee Shops
small cafe
The Mermaid Cafe is you're best bet. Outstanding service at all times.
