• Nole Endmands use to live near by.
• Jennifer Saunders lives near Chagford and often pops into Newton. God knows Why. Have seen Jen Saunders at petrol station, she hid behind the crisp stand until shop was empty before going to the till to pay. The talentless hollyoaks actress Lisa M Kay lived in newton, before she was found,darling, and has been spotted talking loudly in Sainsburies.
• Emmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! David Jasons doublecan be seen in THE FOX or THE COURTENAY ARMSplaying to the crowd, SCOTT HILEY of EXETER CITY FC lives in town, plus plenty of the SLY CREW(Exeter Citys hoolies) live here as well as plenty of Plymouth Argyle fans.
• David Del Boy Jasons lookalike lives in the town and is often spotted in the pubs where he is only too happy to take off the real thing. A few footballers from Torquay live within the area.
• My mate Colin once saw someone who looked a bit like Gary Barlow eating chips outide Bitz, but his hair was too short. And he was black.

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
