Food
RESTAURANT'S IN FALMOUTH ARE TOP NOTCH
Minge Garden is nice, Spanish Fly is too. So is the Pipeline (v expensive). Too many to mention.
some good chinese resturants
Three makaral on the beach at swanpool is v nice!
we have recently got loads of great new restuarants
Firstly:
right thru town, near Tragos we have:
Spanih Fly - brilliant new Tapas bar - is extremly lovely but gets very very busy
Cassis - never bin in but looks good
Warehouse: Italian Bistro type place - very nice, but also very popular so remember to book, is gorgeous food and ok prices but the menu seems to stay te same quite often so dont go there 2 much
Other places:
The Three Mackerals: This is quite a way out of town but well worth it...It is above Swanpool beach and has recently been taken over...although quite pricey the food is absolutly gorgeous and the menu very good.
The Boathouse i love it there nice atmosphere and great views over the harbour. Dont go to the pasty shop near the top of killihgrew it does pastys by post (cant be healthy) and has some dogy food preperation tactics! Citrus Cafe ok but pricey 4.95 for an all day breakfastand i wasn't impressed
Pubs
Weatherspoons has the cheapest beer and best service. Most of the other pubs sell appaling quality food served by Nazi staff at incredible prices. Best food at 5 degrees west, for a price.
oddfellows all the way
Jacob's Ladder is friendly, a bit out of the way with local and student customers. Has music some nights and free pool.
You forgot the "seaview", get to know some real locals!
the grapes is a nice chilled pub during the week, serves cheap good pub food but beware saturday nights, full of townies, gets very busy. Check it out for the absolutly beautiful bar staff!!
Jacobs Ladder. Friendly pub, good beer and good music. Quiz night on Mondays.
Watermans is wicked. Good crowd. Also, Nancy's and Weatherspoons.
There is not a lot else to do in the evening. None are great so I recommend doing a pub crawl. Go explore my children.
Nancy's has been completly refurbished - worth a try - dated 23/10/03
Definately the Quayside or Waterfront.
Grapes for good company and a juke box, Finns for cheap vodka and coke, spoons for cheap everything but no music, Cork and Bottle for loud music and occasionall good deals on cheap drink.
there are loads of good pubs in falmouth but i will just say some of them well theres the woodhouse , wetherspoons , finns , nancys , cork and bottle , prince of wales , labour club , grapes , watermans , kings head , kahbar(new one).
Brand new Wetherspoons on the Moor, called PACKET STATION, very trendy and modern, but remember no music in Wetherspoons, but a great place to begin your night out.
The Quay, right at the bottom of the hill leading from FCA. Sit inside or out.
THE CROSS KEYS PENRYN
THE CUTTY SARK
Nancy's is crap. finns is okay. Boathouse and star and garter are nice. chainlocker does some good student nights(official SU bar. Look out for when Rio and Ollie play).
Watermans pub. run by the ex crwe of finn macouls. :] cheap, gorgeous staff, and phill mitchels regular.
watermans is always good
Watermans is the most probably the most popular pub in town among the younger generation, gets packed out at the w/e's. During the day u can go there with family, sit under the big umbrella type thingy cant remember wot they're called, that comes out from the bulding over the tables, u can take ur own food to eat there....
It's behind th grapes pub oposite the HSBC bank.
Boathoses & star n' garter have good views. Nancy bar has good music and lots of drunken sailors! Jacobs ladder inn in up al huge amount of steps and is dirty when u get there (spit & sawdust oh yeah!0
Cafes and Coffee Shops
If I wasn't blind I'd say QUENCH. Bit steep for somethings but it's healthy and yum.
