• New Look, Mackays and Peacocks for the cheap, conforming tramp in you. Surf Asylum (but the name keeps changing) for people who want to look like surferes but think wax is a styling product. Nothing else worthy of mention.
• New look for the ladies
• loads and loads of Sodding Charity Shops
• Cut4Cloth, based in Constantine, selling gorgeous 100% organic baby clothes. On the web at www.cut4cloth.co.uk or tel. 01326 340956
• Wow, Dorothy Perkins has now arrived and is threatening to take Helston into the 21st century. Good place to go to avoid the crush that is New Look on a Saturday, where every teenage girl in the surrounding 10 mile radius is.
• Togs, which has been threatening to close down for the last 10 years, specialises in really expensive random stuff. New Look of course, home of every 10-15 year old girl in the area.

Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

• There are a couple of over-priced craft shops in Church Street playing on the whole, 'Tourists Love All Things Cornish' thing. Avoid.
• Crafty's now closed, a loss to the region.

Magazine and Comic Shops

• that weird place, the tacabbonist next to the methodist church
• #~Your usual newsagents.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
