DONT use the front of the multiplex or its carpark...they have a patrolling managers and its not worth the hassle....they are cool with us so dont push 'em!
Lidls Square (Victoria square) is alive most nights with many BMX flatlanders, skateboarders, stick nibblers (scooters). Carpark when wet.
Longskating on the sea front is cool, or not.
Ramp now in Victoria Park
Behind YMCA, Clennon Valley: Vert ramp cut down winter 92/3. Status of mini-ramp and bank un-known. But happening again. Street stuff and sometimes indoor sessions. Pay to skate 50p. Various street eg Safeway with platforms, benches, walls. Car-park has slidy bar, banks and curbs. Occasional fly-off. Quaywest at Goodrington Sands has steps, curbs and platforms. Safeways (near train station): Platforms, benches. Car park has slidy bar, banks, curb silands. Quaywest at Goodrington sands: steps, curbs and platforms (sketchy skatepark nearby). Hook-up points: Safeways evenings, Quaywest or skatepark at weekends. (Old fools: Banks at seafront about 2' high to vert. Grindable. Micro canyon. Higher ones towards theatre.)
Skateboard Shops
Vert on Hyde Road, does most stuff, boards, parts, clothing.
Vert, 7 Hyde Road, Paignton. Cool stuff, reasonably priced, the guys will always try to sort you out if they can. They've got some good brands - Globe, Etnies, Emerica, Es, Krew, Osiris, Adio to name a few. Well worth a look especially for skateboard shoes and clothing.
vert in hyde rd. resonably priced. dont use BKT - too expensive.
get mi decks n torquay innit, where that safe big boys toys shop sells
Theres a good shop called Vert in Hyde Road which is staffed by cool guys and sell good stuff. Harbour Sports is just an expensive pile of s***!
Al B's Surf Shack, soon
no skate shops, but surfing, and wind wankers can get gear at Harbour Sports.
Some skate clothes, but don't get excited, and get out your overdraft...
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
