Hookup Spots
- m556k
- Good hook-up spot would have to be either collage-green at the bottom of park street, or the Downs up by the top of Black-boy hill road.
- college green, watch out for the emo's in the summer
- Queens square is pretty safe, if you enter from the city centre side heading towards St Mary Redcliffe church then the right hand side is a legal public drinking zone so theres often huddles of friends sitting around happily drinking alcohol.
- St nicholas's market, it's the best with great food, great sops from the rock shop to the sweet shop in the permaent small stalls and then theres beast and everything in the indoor market, which is fri, sat and sun, as well as the outdoor market fri sat sun which has vintage clothes and everything. its quite easy to find. Colledge green is just a grass its the company that makes it, and I've lived in Bristol my whole life and never been mugged or anything the worse I've had is comments being shouted. Just looking here you would think castle park is the worst but during the day its a really great place to eat lunch etc. Also the gallerries are pretty good as everyone should know and also cabots tower and park street- there's loads in Bristol dunno y ur all going on about colledge green though. o and then theres the mall but thats at cribbs causeway but theres vue opposite as well as other things
- I don't reccomend College Green, there are ridiculous amounts of fights there and nothing is done about it. When getting beaten up I had to run into the church, and a priest called the police but they never showed up.
- The bench on the city side of the suspension bridge, tucked down the side...
- Aroundabout Sound in Cheltenham, is where I used to hang around...they have tons of gear and some vintage guitars too
- Aroundabout Sound in Cheltenham, is where I used to hang around...they have tons of gear and some vintage guitars too
- The Victoria rooms. Great place for chilling, watching skaters and sneaking in.
- College green is the place to be when hanging out with mates. Just sitting around, watching the world go round and waiting to go back into lessons! And watching cute skater guys!
- Castle park, it was much safer back then.
- college green is bent
- 2004: The @Bristol square on a summer evening....desplte the name. '@'Bristol? gimme a break.. anyway, the square is clean and pleasant. fountains to play in!
- College Green has to be the best place to laze around or down by the river
- We reckons a safe place is under the 52 02 building on Stokes Croft. It's really safe kids.
- St Andrews park - its wicked (no halfpipe yet tho)
- college green, in summer watch the skaters - fit
- filton school
- Folk centre, Hanham
- college green
- college green smells now the average age is 12...
- Queens square, College Green. But C'mon the truth is If u keep ur wits about you most of the time you are ok, but yes Castle Park is a hot spot for muggings but only if ur stupid enough to stop and talk to people. Just keep walking, keep urself to urself in Bristol. That way youre less likely to get urself into a sticky situation with a Crack-head!
- Horn & Trumpet or Hippodrome area. Usually see one sad git waiting for two hours for a blind date who hasn't shown..
- one missed out the new @bristol square although its packed with famileys there enoufh room to skate about its quite relaxing sun seem to reach there well, it has lots of fountains and a small bit of water enoufh to muck about in then lay out and dry off many a happy memory im gonna cry :*(
- 100% college green
- Delicatessen shop doorway - next to Ponanas
- Outside the Hippodrome - like everyone else trying not to look shifty.
- Corner of the docks outside the Arnolfini bar. Summer only.
- Don't skate little lloyds coz the fukin counsil have raped it with their gay metal studs on the ledges and a fence at the top of the bank
- You do not get mugged at castle park, it is a safe place!
- You DO get mugged in Castle Park. My son (16) got mugged twice, and my daughter(14) once.
Both had their mobile phones taken. Police said they could not do anything about it unless they were actually
holding the stolen phones. Something to do with not being able to stop and search after
the Lawrence case.
- Always College Green, NEVER Castle Park, you get mugged there.
- The main square
- College Green- especially popular with students
- castle park
- Not a hool up spot but a correction to the basic information - I didn't know where else to put it. Bristol is NOT in the County of Somerset! Bristol is its own local authority area.
- The park in the corner of Pettigrove Road and Court Road Kingswood
- belland drive shops
- College Green
lloyds Bank
- Well you could wait around under that stupid steel and glass "sail" thing in town but you might feel a bit embaressed..
- Neptunes statue on the centre overlooking the docks (probably won't survive the construction work in that area though)
- mini-market lawfords gate st judes bristol
- Bus-station
- College Green - mostly students
- Watershed - Very relaxing.
- Brandon Hill - Check out Cabot tower for an unbelievable view over virtually all of Bristol.

What is Knowhere?
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
