St Austell, Cornwall Triumphs and Tragedies

Favourite Building

• Truro Road Bedsits
• the thin end cafe is not in the old westhill school which has now been demolished its in fore st.
• My favourite building is Morven Windows on Clifden Road, very nicely presented.
• Public toilets at the back of the market house!
• the new EDEN PROJECT dont miss it even as it is built, it's a record book place
• The Cornwall Coliseum
• asda
• Your respondents clearly have good taste! The building the Thin End is in, the old West Hill School and the criminally demolished Mt Charles Chapel were all the work of architect Silvanus Trevail. He also did Tregarne Terace, Morland Road, NatWest Bank, Mt Charles School etc etc.
• THE BREWERY, WHERE ELSE?
• That nice chapel at Mt. Charles has now been knocked down, and the sods whoi did it should be kicked out of the town
• The one the Thin End's in.
• you just got to adore the methodist church in mount charles
• Parish Church and Market House (opposite each other)
• Got to be the Parish church at the end of Fore Street
• The old Market House - lots of steel girders - very industrial.

Demolish It Now Building

• Park House Flats, it looks awful
• The multi-story car park is soon to be demolished-or at least plans for it are. In truth most of the town is soon to be 'restorated' because of the amount of stores wanting to leave.

• park house because it's rough and full of wacko's. The multi storey car park is a mess , don't go down the stairs there because a warm piss smell will ooze up ur nostrils.

• St. Austell town centre itself, what the hell is it?
• St Austell's multi storey car park, and the abomination that replaced Mt Charles Chapel...
• multi storey car park dont use it unless you have to most of us locals do only as alast resort
• I think the railway station should be demolished and then a better new one built.

• THE GOLF CLUB - ACCORDING TO MY WIFE.
• The monstrosity that has replaced the nice chapel at mt. Charles, and looks more like a remand centre
• The new tax office on Trinity Street - there was a nice green field there before.
• The multi-story car park. Ugly, crime ridden and impossibly hard to navigate.
• Inland Revenue building - yes I know it provides employment but they flattened one of my old schools!
• c.e.f. store at holmbush
• The multi-storey carpark, actually the whole of Alymer Square - including Pip's flat.

The Best Things

• beaches and surfer guys!!!
• The best things in St Austell are Ozzell Bowl, The rashleigh Arms for food, Bethel Social Club this is a very happening place and its got lots of cheap drink, you need to be a member though or know someone that can sign you in. The Eden Project is suppose to be very good, I must go and visit.
• The road out of town. The fact that I spend most of my time out of it - go to Truro College instead, St Austell College is really bad!!! I can't stress that enough.
• If you have money, your seen as a god! Penrice school - the best secondry school in Cornwall (based on 2000 GCSE results) Gossips and Club 2XS nite clubs
• nothing is ok, thats y i moved to scotland!

• beaches ,country side, walks are all at hand
• The best things about St.Austell are it is close to the sea,some nice girls (well more than there is in bradford ),the people I know and my family in St.Austell are brilliant, my sister and friends right laugh,It get's the fresh sea air so It's not as poluted as a big city like Bradford.
• charlestown, charlestown, charlestown- ooh, and "The Rashleigh"
• Innis Fisheries for excellent trout fishing and hostelery. The food is highly recommended.
• Ozzell Bowl opened up near the town centre a couple of years and finally brought something to do of an evening other than going to a pub or club.
• It's not London
• its close to stenalees, that cant be bad
• Cooksley's pasties Hicks Special Draft The bay Relaxed atmosphere All day parking for a £1
• It's not a bad place to shop for essentials.

The Worst Things

• its soooo booooring!
• St. Austell
• Criag the Weatherman, from spotlight who lurks around Here
• The amount of time we have to wait for the council to build a decent town centre. Spar shop Bethel.
• St Austell college - around the worst college in cornwall. The amount of time it is gonna take for penrice school to build a six form
• Star Cars! Never get a taxi from them, they are the most expensive around!
• most of the other people.
• The amount of ugly women in St. Austell
• Too many tourists in the summer, and prices start to rise during the summer months. McDonalds keeps getting planning permission refused.
• No jobs
• so very far away from any football ground of league status
• Too many shoe shops
• It's not a good place to go for entertainment.
