• Bob Catley is in Magnum still! Pleased to see him on top of the list, but lose the "ex". Also Tony Mills, the singer in SHY (has been ex, back again a few years ago, loads of fans all over the world (I'm from Norway)), lives in Wasall! So there!
• Bob Catley (ex Magnum) is based in Lichfield.

• My father FRED DEGVILLE was probably the first jazz guitarist living and performing in Walsall. I played in his trio on guitar at the Wheatsheaf pub from the age of 12 and continued until the age of 17. My father then took over the Crown Inn Brownhills which became a famous jazz haunt. He also taught NODDY HOLDER the guitar when Noddy was 15. My father was much loved and respected and should be up there with the rest of the Walsall contingent. Paul

• There's this persistent rumour that Boy George used to go to QM Boys School, but I think it's unsubstantiated. I have been to Slade's old house on the Birmingham Road, though. And Led Zep and the Charlatans both played their first gigs in Walsall.
• Often seen performing on the streets of Walsall (and even more often when pissed on friday nights)is local celebrity Jo shone. Her rendition of "baby got back" (the butt song) is legendary.........

• Joe The Busker is a demi-god, if you give him 10 pence he'll sing you a song. I'll never forget when I was 14 and he gave me beer that was11 months out of date.The man who whistles outside Marks and Spencer isn't really blind. Prince the guard in the saddlers centre isn't a busker its just entertaining to see him walk with 5 tennis balls under each arm.

• Brian Ramsey is a tragic story, but we all love him! Can be found most nights by the Sister Dora staue. Everyone thinks one of the Big Issue man is funny because of his unique pronounciation.
• Great large street market that runs up the streets up to the church, and some of the stall holders can be characters. Check out the assistant (not the owner) on the swords and military badges etc stall, if you want to be entertained with whoppers about his glory glory days leading the SAS to victory.
• Down the main street from the Wharf on a Saturday is normally the best time and place
• Too many men on stilts in the centre now a'days.
• Ramsey - ask him about bruce lee go on i dare you!
• Mad Ramsey - local wierdo known by just about everyone - looks like a man, barks like a dog, can be seen on the streets of Walsall alternatively barking at passersby or punching people in the face (I wonder just how much longer he can avoid incarceration)
• "Mad" Ramsey - local freek - been around for as long as any of us can remember - possibly homeless, basically a freak - absolutely deranged! walks around town all day barking strange noises at random passersby....occaisionally goes wild though so watch out. Funniest moment was when we took him along to a party we were crashing....but that's another story...hehehe.
• The bloke with dreadlocks who juggles fire is actually a bit crap. He always drops them when I go past. By the way it is very possible that a comedy act called Marj and Dor are about to attack people in the streets of Walsall with a camcorder just to try and boost their careers.
