Food

• Il Parco is a pretty good Italian restaurant on Church Road, backing onto, you guessed it, the park...worth a look in...good food and charming service. For an unbeatable Chinese takeaway at very very reasonable prices, Rice and Noodle Express in the little strip mall on the Kingsway is great.
• Bellybusters are excellent - a huge range of different food to take away, plus they're opposite a fried chicken shop so everyone in the family can have their choice! This is more Redfield than St. George, but it's walking distance - could even take your food into St. George Park and sit by the lake ... bliss.
• Plenty of take aways on Church Road. Pizza/ burger bars and TGI Friday's at Avonmeads

Pubs

• the pied horse best in the area
• The Bell, Bell Hill Rd. One of the best pubs for miles around (IMHO) Good for watching footy on Sky, cheap good bear & good all round atmosphere especially Fri/Sat eve's
• What a choice - try doing the Church Road pub crawl in one evening - beware though - some can be a bit dodgy
